After a few months of not being able to send out marketing emails due to a change in the policy/pricing plans of our email provider, we are happy to report that we've now successfully implemented an internal dashboard for sending emails with an API.

Today we're starting off with sending free spins to PPMG & PBG email lists - if you are registered there, we'd request to open and click on those emails, just to help us regain our "email reputation" again a bit quicker - as that helps us increase our overall deliverability.

We're also sorting out some final tiny issues/optimizations, after which we we all continue with emailing to the rest of our website, as well as pick up on any discounts/events on all websites again - which we held off a bit due to the inability to send out marketing emails.

*Some might have received an empty email to PBG first, as there was an issue/mistake with sending it out - please don't report/mark that email as spam smile

Simpocalypse now has a fixed release date – it is releasing out of Early Access on May 11th!

Our original release target was late April, but because of plethora of other releases in the same genres, we've decided to move it into May, as not having too crowded week around your release date is extremely important. It also gives us some additional time to polish the game a bit more, but more importantly, prepare additional marketing. Tomorrow, we are releasing another massive update that focuses on balance, early experience, extending content, adding Steam achievements, and much more.

Although we already released on Steam back in December into Early Access, this is now considered the “actual release” which gets some additional exposure, and how well the first week goes, will more or less set the basics for how well the game will do in its first year, and how much more additional time should be invested in additional game updates. And the more wishlist and marketing of our own we can do before and during that week, the more additional exposure we will receive, and the more copies we will sell.

Last month, since the major UI rework update, we have also worked on optimizing our store page and improving traffic conversion. We've done a bunch of A/B tests on game covers, screenshots, trailer, descriptions, pitches, Steam tags... And we seem to have increased those results somewhere in the range of 200-300% - which is already great, but there is more to be done up to the launch.

While we could always benefit from more development/marketing time, there is always a risk/reward factor to take into account, and we're now at a point where extending that time further would have unpredictable additional benefits, and we have to optimize the chances of the game doing well in the time we have. There are still some updates planned up to the launch, but it is mostly game polish in nature. We are trying to use most of the remaining time to further optimize our conversion, setup both strong free and paid marketing campaigns, PR, Youtube/twitch reviews.

This is where we'd also love to see some help from our community, to help us get that bit extra exposure on our launch week smile We are considering organizing a few things – anyone buying and playing the game in the launch week will get their purchase matched with a BAP bonus. We might also be organizing an additional campaign, where helping us share the launch anywhere you can will get you some additional rewards – a simple facebook post, twitter share, email, all of this would add up.

To gauge potential interest of this, could you please drop a comment in “Discuss The News”, if you'd be able to share a simple post/email on your social media, or like/share some of the posts we will be making. If there's enough interest, I will organize a special Discord group next week, where I will provide more specifics, and where I'll also be accepting any proof to hand out BAP rewards for your help smile

P.S.: I still need to go over any translation contributions and reward those who have helped since the last time.

We've just started a "MTV promotion team" discord server, where we'll be organizing some events, where you can help us do your part to promote our products and sometimes get a significant reward for doing so.

Our first event will be helping with the launch of SimPocalypse during 11th-18th May, and you can get up to 30k+ BAP in rewards!
* One of the tasks is simply to buy/play the game and doesn't require any sort help of promotion on your end.

This discord group/server is an attempt, that if goes well we might run similar events for our other products/websites in the future, and where not only you'll be able to gain some rewards, but also do your part to help us expand our products.

If you are interested in helping out and receiving some rewards, make sure to join the discord group here:
https://discord.gg/wRfWZpNDSp

*Discord is super easy to use, you don't need to download anything (just click on the link) - just to avoid abuse/spam, you will need to verify your email address to be able to post anything.

Some notes
This is NOT meant as a support group for any of our site, but as a means to utilize our community to help improve our products, but also give the community a more direct way to connect with one another.

Once you join, please read the rules and look around the channels. Keep in mind that this is an experiment, and if we'll consider to keep using this in the future more actively, depends a lot on how well it works out, and also, how much time/attention it requires from our team - especially in the following week do not expect me to be responsive to anything non-event related.

We think this could be an interesting tool going forward, and now is the perfect opportunity to test it out smile

We've noticed an issue with our LTC cashouts, where all cashouts made since 12th May were paid under the LTC/USD rate of ~$388, instead of the live rate.

Reason for this is that the site we were using for price checking, seems to have gone offline then, and we need to change to use a different price check API.

We'll check all LTC cashouts done in that period tomorrow, and return and difference in rate used to your balance.

*In most cases this meant that you received less $ value of LTC than what you should at the time of the cashout.

It’s now been 10 days since we released SimPocalypse out of Early Access on Steam, and I’m sure everyone is wondering how we did so far smile

I’ll try to keep this post short and to the point, and follow up with a bigger post with more explanations - so if you have any additional questions/thoughts, please post in the Discuss The News thread, and I’ll take it all into account for a follow-up post.

Week 1 out of EA sales: 1299 units, $9448 gross
Sales total (including EA sales): 3955 units, $22933 gross
* MTV gets roughly a share 35% of all gross sales (not added as a specific result, but deducted off invoices/costs)

Objectively, how did the launch go?
We were aiming for 2000 week 1 sales, as a minimum to consider the launch a success. We did everything we could to prepare and market as much as possible, but there are a ton of factors why it didn’t perform as well as we were aiming for (I’ll elaborate in a follow up post). First few hours of results were devastating, but we didn’t give up, and looked for every other avenue to market it additionally, and managed to get it trending on Steam on at least most niche tags. Instead of an expected Day 2 drop in sales, we managed to keep a steady post-launch tail, with which we managed to recover to decent week 1 sales.

We are estimating to end the first 30 days of launch with around 2000 sales. Based on some general industry average estimates and week 1/year 1 ratios, we’re realistically expected to do at least another 6-8k sales within the next 11 months.

How much did MTV invest into the game’s development?
So far $65000, with expected $70000 in total with May costs included (we are doing a final round of post-launch updates in the next week). To reach profitability, the game would need to make around $200,000 in gross revenues.

What’s next/will this investment be fully repaid?

Our goal was to try and get the game to a profitable point within a year, which based on how the game did so far is unrealistic to expect. MTV will not be investing any additional money into updating/upkeeping the game (other than a certain % of revenues being used into most efficient paid marketing), as it would simply raise the break event point further. However, our team will still upkeep the game and do marketing bursts free of charge, to help reach profitability point faster. But from MTV’s point of view, investing further into it is not worth it, and it is better to move on with a new product, while this one starts paying itself off in the next 2-3 years.

Here’s some additional materials surrounding the game’s launch, while I prepare a more detailed follow-up post to any questions you might have:

Week 1 release stats/post-mortem
Breakdown of our development stats

*This was written as part of marketing but also evaluation of our work process and how to improve it going forward

Lastly, I’d like to personally thank the few who have helped by purchasing the game and some of the promotional efforts. While we were expecting a lot more help given the BAP rewards offered and how many people joined the Discord group, we’re still thankful to however many did smile

We will be keeping the discord group alive, and continue with additional promo events in the coming months (for SimPocalypse, but also others). While it’s effect this time was not too huge, we think if we can over time get 100+ active members engaged in these sort of activities, we should be able to get much better results from it smile

As we posted before we are working with a SEO (Search Engine Optimization) group to improve organic search for PlayBitcoinGames and attract a bigger market share there - with PlayPerfectMoneyGames this was much easier as we were/are the biggest in the market that has little competition, but the only way to get more noticeable with PBG and scale it, is to get more professional/dedicated help to bring us higher in search results.

To do this properly, it requires consistent work over a 6 months+ period to bring significant changes
, as there's high competition in this market.

We started work with the SEO team in February for a probationary 3 month period, to evaluate their progress, quality of work, and just generally if they're someone we can trust to work alone with minimal of our intervention required. A lot of the first few months was settings up the fundamentals - improving on-site SEO, making our website more search friendly, setting up a blog, improving site's user experience and beginning work on a consistent plan to gather quality backlinks and target a specific set of keywords we want to rank higher in.

The team is charging $1k/month for their work, with an additional ~$2k bonus every three months if we are happy with their work. After the first three months, they've met our expectations and have been generally great to work with - they've prepared a ton of quality content for both on and off site, here are some visuals of our search results:

*impressions are esssentially how many times our website shows to users searching for somethign in google, clicks are how many people click on those search results

Nov2020-Jan2021 (before SEO work started)

Feb2021-Apr2021 (first 3 months of SEO work)

Nov2020-May2021 (a better visual of progress)

One thing to note is that ranking higher in SE (Search Engines) by itself does not directly convert to higher results/profits – not every visitor will convert. But it is a “hands-off” funnel to get targeted visitors/customers, with a big potential piece of the pie for ourselves – currently we are getting ~40 organic clicks/month of an overall market size on ~40000/month (for the main set of keywords we are targeting).

Based on our current organic traffic conversion rates that's an estimated potential market of $12k-$40k in monthly revenues. And we consider our current conversion rates low for mainly these reasons - site was poorly optimized in past months, there was a lack of recent gameplays & cashout due to low activity, as well as a few months of emailing issues on our end which hurt retention and revenues as well. Plus as we start grabbing a bigger share of the market, we are likely to grab some much bigger players than what we are currently getting, further increasing the conversion.

As there is obviously huge potential in this, we have decided to commit to a more longterm approach, with the goal & realistic potential of seizing at least 5-10% of that share in the following 6 months. And if we reach that goal there is not only plenty of room to get an even bigger market share, but also to further optimize conversion and revenues.

The team is confident they can reach those goals and we have set an array of KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) in place to be able to measure their progress and that be the grounds for us to sticking to the 6 month cooperation. If certain milestones are not met, we will halt cooperation, and as the team wants to commit to a more long-term plan, we also only need to pay out any bonuses after the 6 month period, if a set of KPIs is met, that essentially guarantees us these efforts will be bringing us a share of the market which will easily cover us for this investment.

Improving results of PBG with SEO is our lowest hanging fruit, and where we believe these investments can bring us the most potential profits in a short time period, but also persist longterm. If this cooperation brings the desired results, we'll be looking to pursue similar cooperations with our other websites.

Returns of the crypto fund 2 are 300% atm.
Some was lost, not much at all in the grand scheme of things.
Most people are already down 60-90% on many of their coins. I only lost 40%.

To paint a picture..
60% would mean a 200% return atm and 90% a 50% return atm.
300% is very solid, given the fact that during the bearmarket the fund went as low as 13%.
I don't hold many positions at the moment. I am mainly looking for good shorts and waiting to see what btc will do in this 28-32k area.
If we lose 28k, I'll only short, because that is a confirmation of a bearmarket for me.

It's been a bit over a month since SimPocalypse launch, so here's a quick update on how it's going:

In May we sold a total 1782 units ($13838 gross revenue), and also gained 2095 wishlists. After an underwhelming week 1 launch we were estimating to reach around 2000 unit sales in the first month, so the estimate was fairly accurate.

The ~$14k in revenue means that MTV will get around a 35% net share or roughly $4.8k of that, which will be received/accounted in paying our next invoice (so July/start of August). And so on for each following month's revenues (essentially 2-2.5 months delay for any revenues being received by MTV).

We're estimating to make an additional $3-5k in gross revenues/month for the next 12 months. As mentioned before, MTV will incur no additional costs for SimPocalypse upkeep going forward - our team will still handle the general upkeep, occasional batches of marketing, and possibly some smaller updates here and there to the game.

Sales graph:

Unfortunately at the beginning of June we received an "unlucky" streak of negative reviews, which affected our "last 30 days review score" extremely negatively, and it clearly impacted our conversion to sales. Thankfully that is now behind (for the time being at least) and our conversion is better again. If anyone has bought the game here, leaving us a review would be extremely beneficial at this point, if you haven't yet.

We've also temporarily stopped some of the paid marketing on google ads & reddit, to determine our baseline sales after the Steam launch visibility has subsided, so we can the re-fire the paid marketing, and more accurately measure the paid marketing effects, and see how it converts. As if the conversion is profitable, we can then ramp up the paid marketing and keep it going consistently to help increase the overall sales. But if it turns out that our paid marketing is not converting well enough to be profitable, we will obviously stay away from it.

As Marc already mentioned, we're also negotiating another big SEO project for one of our most profitable products - PPMG. The general idea is to work on similar things we are working on with PBG's SEO, with the primary goal to further cement PPMG as the top search results for anything perfect money related, but also extend the targeting to more general online casino searches. More info on that to follow - to end with, here's a quick visual progress of the PBG SEO efforts starting to continually pay off and grow:

To give you an idea of the expected SEO contractual goals for PBG at the end of our 6 month plan (ends in 5 months), a similar 3 month graph should then show at least 3000 clicks (2000%+ increase compared to now), and in another 2 months, 5000+ clicks.

We've had a gambler who deposited 20 mbtc to PBG and won 306 mbtc. ($11000,-)
He cashed it out yesterday and has been very vocal about his 15x-return on bitcointalk.
We've been experiencing quite the losses on Playbitcoingames lately ($35000,- in 3 months), but we're hoping the publicity of us being legit and paying will help our future growth.

We are currently looking into addition of the AirTM payment method, which seems particularly popular in South America, but seems to be accepted worldwide and with very favorable fees to use.

They also seem to allow integrated exchanging between various processors like PayPal, Neteller and many more - which means it can be a gateway for users to use many more other popular payment methods.

So far it looks like we will be able to use it for all purposes (purchases, deposits, withdrawals, casino games, investments), but we will be confirming these before beginning implementation. If all goes well, AirTM should be added as a payment method by end of July (it will take some time due to staff being on some vacation).
