This is the best solution I can think for this "situation":

On a PTC website called "BuxP" (6yrs old PTC) there is an option to view "Adult themed ads" by going to personal settings and selecting the "Yes, I want to view Adult themed ads" button (or something like that wink ). But by default it is always OFF.

On PaidVerts we can use a similar functionality, and even charge a small premium to those advertisers!

The benefits of this solution:

1. More Money from advertisers who are keen on showing Adult themed banners. tongue

2. Nobody gets offended and has to leave the site (or tell their refs to do so) since by default the functionality to view such ads / banners is OFF.

3. This functionality is easy to program and won't take much of programmer's time.

4. No banning of accounts or URLs or 'moral policing' needed!

5. Last but not the Least - EVERYONE IS HAPPY / NOT OFFENDED / MAKES MONEY angel !!

Indeed. We'll get to this shortly. But we can't implement it overnight - as the programmers are backed up like crazy.

On the advertiser side when uploading banner ads, you could also have check box to indicate that the advert contains adult themed visuals and link might lead to adult material.

So, then if advertiser uploads adult themed content but don't indicate
that, trying to cheat the terms, then MTV in their rights to delete advert
and red flag member.

You could even with this implement an admin alert - if ad marked as adult
then admin would need to approve advert.

If complaint submitted against adult advert that was not marked as
adult material when uploaded - member red flag. If red flag more than
certain amount - member account suspended & they have to explain to
admins very nicely why & MTV decide if account activated again.

Payment processors will blacklist MTV and PV if it becomes an adult advertising site.

MTV is not going to become adult advertising site ermm
But there are other sites who use paypal who also have adult advertisements if you so choose, like fanslave. But I don't know if there are any restrictions in place in how you can buy these.

Thanks for the reply Jo.

Here's a screenshot of how it appears on the BuxP PTC website:

@iamliger - Don't worry, just because there is an option to show Adult ads on the site, it DOES NOT become an "adult advertising" site! tongue wink
Also, as you can see that BuxP PTC website has PayPal and Payza as Payment Processors for the past 6+ years, so if it isn't an issue there it shouldn't be an issue with Paidverts. grin

I don't know which sites offer such filtering options. All I know is payment processors don't process payments of adult sites or sites with adult content.

Put all these PTCs on one side and Paidverts on one side. It's the only site that offers dollars per click. This is costing other PTCs thousands daily as more and more members are investing in PV and not theirs. Only a few reports from other PTC site owners to services like paypal will be enough and they will ban Paidverts' account.

If members open claims and disputes regarding such issues then there will be another reason to stop doing business. Already paypal have disapproved MLM programs, so think of sites with adult content filtering options.

I suggest Jo first contacts paypal and others about this 'ad filtering' feature then think of integrating it, or it will only be wastage of programming time and money.

adfiltering what has that to do with mlm?!!!

Advertisement is not aimed towards something specific..

Sure people mostly promote other ptc programs.. Always but this isn't the idea behind advertisement

Advertisement is simply getting traffic towards whatever u have.
with 60.000 users i bet 50.000 don't even care about it and watch porn anyways
Me included.

Not that i care about those adds due there is enough free p.rn outthere.
But i do care about the money it brings in wink

its advertisement.
Get over it

Yes there has to be a choice to recieve it!
No it shoud not be completely removed..

Thats like saying such advertisements can't be in anything advertisement related. How they advertise then?

Have u ever picked up a paper? complained?

Have u seen the escorts adds?! 10's of em.. -_-
Seriusly have all u people complaining this much been living under a rock your hole life..!!

I've nothing to do with what people promote and what people see. All is care about is payment processors' terms and conditions. Ad filtering, mlm, adult content, etc. we need to know what is approved and what not.

Have you ever seen paypal as an option in mlm programs, nope. The reason is such sites harms the name and image of e-processors. Numerous disputes, claims that take days and weeks to resolve, support tickets, chargebacks, fee deduction, etc. This is why they avoid doing business with such programs. Do you want to see the same happen to paidverts.

When more and more members will open disputes, what will it lead to? Numerous advertising sites and businesses had to shut down only because paypal said, "we can no longer do business with you".

Even when submitting sites for approval processors' staff goes through all pages of the site, mostly the TOS section. Any further change in it's functioning will lead to account suspension.

lol shut down because PayPal said so?!

dont get me wrong there a good processor.. however weve been doing it without PayPal for a long time before PayPal comes in..

So worsed case PayPal allowing funds in paidverts whohoo! care.
then we just use another.

im planning to go big enough for bankwire anyways. then no payment processor stuf to deal with at all.

With 20 million potential investors from paypal alone, you say who cares? Have you seen the growth in MTV since the integration of paypal as a payment option.

And business are shut down because paypal is the most widely used and known payment brand. Most purchasers on the net make payments through paypal. If a site has no paypal account the buyers are not going to waste their time opening their accounts in other payment processors only for one transactions.

But yes, bankwire will no doubt help a lot in payment. But not every bank in a country is bankwire enabled. Mine is one of them.

@ iamliger- I agree with you that PayPal (and other Payment Processors) are really important for the growth of Paidverts. I feel Jo is an excellent Admin / businessman and I am sure he'll take care of this aspect before installing the functionality of viewing "Adult theme" based ads/banners. smile
