SO, my alarm not turned on, and thus waking 1hr+ (in a rush to at least be earlyish) after launch is "just fine", in this instance.

Still, big arrgh!

Conspiracy: That check from Jo better be big enough and clear, he's going to need it.

In a way.. This can work out in our favor..
(I am just trying to always find something positive in negative situations so it doesn't suck up all of your joy)

But we can now iron out every single little bug in the system (I have 10 testers running through the entire website, combined with remedcu, Paul and David to sort all of it) and it gives us all an extra day to do proper marketing/expansion of our teams.
Cesar and other designers will give you a lot of extra materials to work with today, let's try to get some extra benefits out of this.

@Marc

If you want the respect you deserve, please also respect our time.. I didn't get the best vibe from the last message... like you are irritated that so many people are not happy with the postponing of the launch when there are literally people who set-up alarm clocks and rescheduled their day to be able to join as quickly as possible.

We should really start learning from mistakes. Please choose the next ETA wisely, because if the same thing happens tomorrow we are not moving forward. If we start meeting our ETAs people will eventually forget about the past.

I know you are working hard and probably most frustrated about the delay, but don't get your emotions involved in this. As a CEO you should expect the things to go wrong instead of hoping for the best.

Anyway, looking forward for tomorrow smile

I actually made that post to postpone until tomorrow BECAUSE I don't want to ruin too much of your time.

This is one time i have to disagree with Marc if the first file was a bunch of encrypted files but not the actual code. Then he still has not turn over to code so we can launch it. I think launch need to be scrapped until we can safely go over the code to make sure there no backdoor entry point stuck in it. Dont think this process can be official and correctly done in a few hours. But then again i am sure Marc will come back telling me yes it can and has been done already.

As far as Marc respecting our time i think he did every good on that as soon as he figured out there was no way it would be launched today he made a post about it. So i dont see where you coming from on that point.

He gives us an encrypted file because his scripts got ripped in the past, this is normal procedure when running a script store.

They can't get a hold of the a-hole, that's why the hacking...

Let's give Marc some credit, he's trying his best to make good for everyone.

The only mistake here is trusting the guy in the first place (that's what you get when you want to do things fast and cheap) instead your own staff.

But as we say, 'It's easy to be a general after the battle...'

So... yeah.

Ffs, is it really so hard to say that MyMatrix will launch somewhere ate the end of March and only give an exact launch date and time AFTER have all the scripts and tests done?

How am I supposed to get refferals when you guys can't keep an ETA? Brian has some share of the blame but you guys have the biggest for specifing a launch date and time without the actual product. I'm just a small fish but I can only imagine how guys with lots of ref's feel about this...

Mihailoo that had to get a hold of him to get the files. At the time he sent the files he should have send the information on how to open them. Sorry i see it a waste of our money and resources if we spending time hacking files. Not being the general after the battle i am just posting what i think is common sense.
jpla1991 yes i agree with you. This whole thing is like selling a house before it built and telling the people buying it they can move in next month.

The script was supposed to be delivered at the 10th February! Setting the launch for today was it too much? I don`t think so. Everything was ready from our side before the launch time. Just one simple thing needed for Brian to do. Couldn`t he make an effort to help a paying customer on launch time? This is very unprofessional from him.

We did whatever we could. We had the ALL team ready hours before. We had EVERYTHING we needed to do READY before launch time. Brian knew exactly when we were launching.

Do we regret doing business with him? Abso-f*cking-lutely.

We went for a simple, cheap, proven script, from a former MTV programmer, from a company that was built by MTV members (of which Marc owns 17%, btw). All this sounded like a good idea for an interesting program, with a smooth launch... but yeah, we did everything we could. We worked our asses off to get this thing done on time, to promote it like crazy, to get the maximum exposure as possible. We are not the ones to blame this time. We totally get that people are annoyed and they feel like their time was wasted, but what about ours? I skipped my nephews birthday today, I haven`t been with my kid for the past days, I barely saw my wife this week.

I`m not complaining, I`m just trying to show all of you that EVERYONE is making sacrifices, personally and professionally. Are we happy with this situation? Hell no.

Vecors

I respect yours and MTVs staff's efforts and sacrifices, and you can say whatever you want about Brian, but at the end of the day is YOUR reputation that is on the line. I can't keep feeling sorry for you when you guys make the same mistake of being naive towards people from outside of MTVs core. You could have waited for the script today and launched next week. It's not the first time that something like this happens.

This doesn't mean that I don't value your efforts, but I can't trust on your ETAs and launch dates anymore until I start to see some positive consistency.

"from a former MTV programmer"
When I heard Brian was involved., I had a bad feeling.
About the only thing I liked about him was that he told Jo Crook off when he left.
He was unprofessional and a flake. Was that forgotten?

Can we possibly get a "no earlier than" time, even if that ends up 12+hrs early?

I'm thinking you won't wake the staff up in the early morning b4 normal work hours for them.

Thus, I think no earlier than 7am server time, is a safe enough time to set the alarm.
Though, that's midnight local, so I wonder if you have a no earlier with another couple hours tacked on (say 10am server time)?

Besides, 12am local (me) is also 3am Eastern US, thus the American continents are sleeping at that time (or just getting home from partying), and for 3hrs later. ESP those that have ~$25+ avl to start.

In no way am I trying to say I matter than others in regards to schedule, but naps have to happen sometime, so a "no earlier than" time would help for all, even if that ends up being 7am server.

I just want to say a couple of things...

Firstly, I'm sorry for losing my head before and started bashing you guys. Marc, Slosumo, Carlos, Vecors, and everybody else, marketers, mods, programmers and even whoever does the offices' cleaning, everybody that are part of the MTV staff, you guys deserve appreciation for taking a broken business and fixing it. I want you to know that whatever I may be mad at you about, you guys deserve respect from what you have been doing lately.
But you have also made lots of mistakes, and resulted in consistently failing ETA's and launch dates. Those mistakes almost always had one or two things in common, which was to trust on somebody from the outside of MTV's core or presenting dates without giving a margin of error. It's been like that with MyMatrix now, but Sumo Roll came out with one month delayed, the marketing campaigns for PBG and PPMG hasn't probably even started, Coinflip Evolved also came slightly delayed, among other stuff. I can only hope that you have learned from all the mistakes. Whatever Brian did wrong or right, I don't care about that. You guys get mad at Brian and bash him as much as you want, but when MTV users are mad, they will bash the staff, because you guys are the ones who have told us that stuff was about to happen when it didn't.
I don't want to have a bad atmosphere in here, it's not good for me and for anybody else. But please, don't tell me anything more about Brian's fault, that's your problem, not mine. So let's just look ahead but learn from this experience, let's all hope the MyMatrix is a huge success and do whatever we can to save any losses from what happened today.

I know that you (staff) have made lots of sacrifices and are ready to make even more for yourselves and the community. We (the users) have been (some of us) very patient, holding up RP's that are nearly invaluable, having FTQ's to be payed and whatnot, but I can only hope that one day we can all look back with a smile on our faces. Let's make MTV the place where everybody would like to be, where everybody is going to be envy that they didn't invested sooner.

     Looking ahead!!
