So I thought twice before replying. I personally hate the gray area ETA replies like "soon", "near future" etc. it drives me mad. Now I don't want to pick on the staff nor the admin. To me it's not professional enough tell the ETA and after a week give the explanation (Marc's post) the reason is now understandable. In the past we had too many of these. I'd rather see more conservative estimates and maybe launch early. My opinion comes from my work. Our team gets killed by the client if we give statements like soon or nearly done. They demand specific dates. Anyway my intention here is to stop the negativity or keep it at minimum. This is the reason why I wasn't asking for an update, but disliked your comment after one week silence, telling us soon. I hope this was clear enough. However, would it be better if there was a qualifier aka "In max 10 days, if all things go as expected" Thing is, delays occur due to the unexpected, even if the project manager feels they are close, the unexpected can still occur and even make a noticeable delay. ESP here with FBG, we are running on a budget, with stalled salaries, Projects are not #1 in their lives. We don't have extra staff to fill in for every type of task involved and already up to speed. We don't have an extra crew avl for keeping the site online when it gets full of traffic. Rest assured, they are not delaying any project on a whim. They want these projects launched ASAP.
