Not much news today... Just waiting on the same old!

But I'm trying to figure out PayPal. Their fees structure is so complicated. I can't see one fixed value for how much it costs to receive money; there's too many variables...
I'm hoping the programmers can call the fee from PayPal itself for each transaction; and then all we've got to make sure is we charge more than that. Then the programming can work out any cashiers revenue.

My first estimate at PayPal cashier fees will be:
Deposits: $0.50 + 5%
Cashouts: Free! (Or perhaps a nominal fixed $0.10 fee regardless of the amount)

Then we'll increase it depending on how many chargebacks we incur... The damage of chargebacks should be minimal due to only permitting $10 worth of purchases per week, for your first 12weeks. But there'll inevitably be some.

I'm pretty sure PayPal fees vary depending on where the person sending you money is from...

The worst I've ever seen was something like 3.9% + $0.30. (But I've heard people in certain countries have them as high as 5.2% + $0.35 O.O)

Yea it's all over the place.
Anyway, Paul says that PayPal sends you the fee info. So it's easy for us to calculate in terms of the portfolio.

And if on occasion we incur a negative revenue, so be it. It'll just come out of the 10% cut the MTV portfolio makes from each purchase.

But I think that'll work, 5% + $0.50 isn't too bad. Especially when factoring in free cashouts. Keeps it on par with every other payment processor, just all your fees are up front with PayPal.

* And I believe as our volumes increase; the fees for PayPal go down. So that'll either increase our profitability, or allow us to decrease the fee the bigger we get.

I think the paypal processor fees should be asked for cashouts.

5% fees on deposit can discourage people to invest.
No deposit fees encourages people to invest.

5% fees on cashout discourage people to cashout, so more money in the system.
No cashout fees encourages people to cashout.

What do you think Jo?

In an ideal world, yes.
But all our PayPal costs are incurred on the deposit.

And not everyone is going to cashout. Some advertisers are actually purchasing advertising. Other users may use their earnings to do other things across our network.

So we need to cover the costs at source. Otherwise it's adding risk to the portfolio.

But, if all the money stays in the system, you don't risk anything!

If you charge on cashouts, you'Re 100% sure to get back the deposit fees from the amount of money cashed out.

I understand that your argument is that you will make more money with the deposit fees because 100% of transactions will pay fees, instead of a minority of them that will end on cashouts.
I't understandable.

But, I still prefer 0% on deposit so more people are willing to invest

Plus, money earned in MTV balance will be charged some fees to cashout.

Anyway, it's a technical thing, it's not a big deal

Our policy has always been to charge costs at source. You create the cost; you pay the fee. That makes for the simplest / clearest accounting... And encourages the individual user, to change their behaviour so that they incur the minimum costs. (ie. Re-investing their balance [free], rather than making cashouts + deposits all the time)

And with PayPal I want to charge it at source. Because you're buying advertising. Some/all of the random users being paid to view those ads maybe using another method entirely. And the cashout fees they pay on their withdrawals; are covering an entirely different cost - funding their e-currency for example.

Also, if we fail to deliver the visits; we have to refund the ad purchase. And if we have to absorb the processor fees also, we'll lose out twice there.

PayPal (usually) will give you a fee reversal if you refund a payment.

Pistas rápidas de hoy se han enviado.

PaidVerts cuenta regresiva:
15-34 días (26 días hasta que caduque el bonus de velocidad de 2.000 dólares)

No existen muchas noticias hoy ...
