Well the good news is the first fast tracks have been paid. It's mostly worked; a slight display issue on the result cards themselves. But no biggy.

New Lead Programmer
Thanks to the likes of Gizmo and inmarc filling Brians head full of their uninformed whiney conjecture. Brian has lost confidence in My Traffic Value, is demanding unreasonable terms; and quit. Thanks for that guys! Very helpful.

So, we're going to pull Paul off the games, and get him started on PaidVerts right away. Throwing him in at the deep end; but he's come through before - fingers crossed he can get up to speed and deliver!

Typical life event there; we're on the final stretch towards a huge transformational idea, with crazy potential. Just a matter of weeks, and a programmer away... And the programmer pulls the plug. mad They're always the weak link!

New Games Page Design
In other news, Rayner has been working on a new layout for our games index page; http://www.e-mytrafficvalue.pl/mtv/gamepage/images/gpage_1a.jpg - looking good!

yes, i don't really understand also...to much hyip mentallity can really fuck up more than one "real" project, money cannot always come first in life how can we create anything if we don't work for it and then get the real value of our work even if that means waiting for it, think about it...

Man, I'm sorry to hear about Brian.........hopefully he changes his mind and comes back. And try to attract another programmer, since the salary drain on the revenues is lowered now, there's room for one more I guess.

We don't know what's up with Alex, Justin is gone also, and now Brian. ermm

And we now have only Paul, Daniel and Rayner (designer)?

So what this means for the business, less development/productivity for about 30%?

What is your plan next Jo, will you try to find some new programmer or will you leave it for now like it is?

We need someone that CAN deliver! So you will need to find a good programmer. Not someone that 'might' be able to pull this off.

Justin was fired due to the terrible quality of his work.

Alex, never had time for us; he works a full time job for some subsiduary of IBM. And has a family; he just faded away once Brian took over.

Brian was at his limit I feel with MTV; which is part of the reason he has bailed. There were a lot of bugs recently, and the shares issue wasn't fixed... So I think that phased Brian... And PaidVerts is a lot of work.

But yea, programmers are a nightmare. We've burned through 20+ in the last 3years... They work whenever the hell they feel like it, do what they want, charge what they want. And they hardly ever deliver. They're a pain in the ass.

But there's plenty out there...
We'll tick over with what we've got for the moment. All we need to do is get PaidVerts up; and then the financing will come in for a better solution to this freelance nightmare that's been delaying MTV's progress for years.

If anyone knows a good programmer... tell them to send me their CV. We can pay $50+ per hour. But we need someone with experience; as MTV is a big website to maintain.

Just PHP pretty much. With the usual little bits around that... Jquery, Ajax, Cron Jobs, CSS etc.

We use a codeignitor framework; so if they have experience there that'd be ideal. But if not, just a lot of experience with PHP will do.

Message from Paul:

Ok, I'll try to fix them in the evening and get familiar with mockups today. I've just talked to Daniel - we'll together take care of PV asap smile

Let's see if they can do as good of a job with PV as he has done with our games. Fingers crossed!

I think that Paul "The Game Machine" (as Brian once called him) will do just fine. smile

Hi,
I'm not sure if it's OK to say, "Goodbye" or to tell my side, but I will try.

I appreciate all the work you've provided to me over the last year. It's been a wonderful experience, and I am happy to be moving on to what I hope will be even bigger and better things! (What? Bigger and better than MTV? That's not possible is it?) Good luck to all of us!

And for my side... First, I suggested to Jo that maybe it would be better for MTV financially, to find someone less expensive to build PV and I would still be available to do core programming, maintenance, fun-money fund, etc. That was not accepted.

I then expressed an interest in not having to wait till I was done with PV to get paid. I didn't want to wait 5 weeks for my next payment. So, as is common in my business, I asked for a down payment, and that was not accepted. I then asked for daily payments for the hours I put in each day. That was something Jo offered to me before I started working here 1 year ago, so I thought it might be seen as a reasonable request. That also was not accepted.

Thankfully, I have other work coming my way, so I'm not in any kind of difficult position, in case anyone may be concerned.

Again, thank you and good luck to us all.

Sorry to see you go Brian! Thanks for the time you put in MTV, even though you were expensive :p  I'm sure Paul will be a good replacement but it sucks you couldn't come to some kind of agreement. Anyway, I wish you all the best with your new projects!
