If you want to stock up on cheap PV advertising (i.e. Banners) now is the time!

This is a heads up that tomorrow Friday (sometime afternoon UTC) we will be changing pricing of some of our advertising options on PaidVerts, as a few have been reduced over time to prices that are absurdly cheap and only end up clogging the system when a huge purchase does happen, for negligible value/revenue.

As this has been ignored for a bit too long, and with many upcoming PV improvements in the following months, we want to ensure we have properly set prices on PV for all products, and our not undercutting our own products. As with expected increase in our users, the prices need to be raised as well. This also makes any sales we do pretty ineffective, as anyone who was interested in the products in bulk, likely already bought them at the regular super low prices.

Specifically this has been an issue with our banners, as the prices have been absurdly low and caused a plug of our delivery, and with that also reduced the value/Desirability of the banners themselves, due to the huge time it takes to deliver them.

The products that will definitely have their prices raised significantly on Friday:
Ad Grid fixed ads
Bulk Ads extra banner impressions (728x90 + 125x125)
BAP banner spots


Other products we will potentially be changing (increasing) pricing on as well:
Ad Grid (image) advertising
Targeted Ads

We want to keep the heads up short, so make sure to use it if you're intending to stock up on these types of ads at the current prices wink

PV Ad viewing massive simplification

We're glad to let you know that we've begun work on a major improvement to how PaidVerts' ad viewing works, that is focused on giving our users a much better experience and use of their time, and at the same time improve the quality of our ads for the advertisers.

Let's get straight to what's changing!


Right now this is the procedure of viewing ads:
1) Go to Paid Ads
2) Click to view an ad – see campaign summary and copy the 3 lines (Which everyone ignores and is annoying)
3) Click to proceed, get taken to ad view page
4) confirm captcha
5) Wait X seconds for ad completion
6) Confirm
7) Close
8) click View another ad
9) Repeat 1-8

This overall procedure has 8 steps and on average takes about 10 seconds of extra time, when you're not even looking at the ad. In case of a 5s ad timer, this means you're spending 15s of your time to view a single ad.

The changes we are working on will VASTLY simplify this procedure, like so:

1) Go to Paid Ads
2) Click view ad button (taken DIRECTLY to ad view page)
3) confirm captcha
4) Captcha is replaced with 1-3 line of text of the ad which advertiser specified 4) <- no confirmation/copy of this required, it immediately catches users' attention (it should likely be bordered/stand out from the rest of the ad view bar at the top). The „tip“ texts on the left will also be changed/reduced to look better
5) Wait X seconds
6) (no need to confirm) View another/next ad button is shown, and a „close/end viewing ads“ is shown which closes the tab / refreshes this page with the next ad. * next ad could be simply by „ad id“, or we might give users a setting where they can select ad viewing order – (i.e. BAP ads first, highest/lowest value first, or default by ad id)
7) Repeat 3-6

This improved procedure will really only have 4 steps and on average will have only about 4 seconds of extra time, so on the same example of a 5 second ad, you will instead of needing 15s to view an ad, only need about 9s!

This means that, as majority of our ads are 5 seconds in length, you are basically earning 67% more in the same time, just because of this simplification!






Here's a rough draft of the ad view bar with the change:


Pros of new implementation:
- reduced user fatigue
- much better user experience, especially for new users, as it will also get them into the habit of viewing more ads
- increased value of time spent by 67% (in case of 5s ads, which most ads are)
- Potentially reduced DB entries due to simplified procedure, reduced server load/connection attempts
- potentially increased ad conversion as user is more fresh and more likely to check the website

Cons:
-loss of a significant portion of banner impressions, as our current implementation doubles everything. But this also makes them less effective and users tend to ignore them.


Conclusion

Right now the ad viewing procedure is wasting a lot of users' time, which makes users disengage with the ads and them being less effective (passively viewing ads). By keeping the procedure more simple, slick and fast, users will be engaging with ads more actively. This will help improve conversion rates for the advertisers as users will be more fresh and engaged with the ads, opposed to the ad view procedure sapping all of their attention by itself.

The advertiser's message shown on the ad view page itself will help reinforce advertiser's message and help point out important things, opposed to mainly being ignored in the current implementation (as users just want to skip through it). We also might add a way for advertisers to select a more standout text of the ad lines for an additional fee.

The biggest gain here will definitely be for the users, as their time will instantly be up to 67% more valuable, and the daily routine for users will become shorter.
PaidVerts has recently not been the most attractive to the regular/”small PTC users” as it took just way too much time to earn a few cents from scratch.

So this change should help increase overall retention of new users, help engage more users to become actively engaged and invest into their PaidVerts experience and earning potential.

As a result of this, value for advertisers will start increasing along with more active users to target, meaning that we should start seeing more ad sales, which in turn will help with increasing ad frequency and value to users, increasing every user's earning potential!

We are estimating the changes to be done by the end of November, on top of some other improvements we have almost done (new landing/home page, about us page, extra activation days will be changed into a registration BAP bonus).

In the following months we will be working on additional improvements to PaidVerts, (especially in January) as the PTC industry has definitely taken a big hit in the past few years, and is something we can definitely shift in our favor by improving our biggest and oldest product!

With these changes we will start looking more into promoting PaidVerts again – which is where you also come in as well! With the improved user experiences, time value, advertiser focused-improvements, referring people to PaidVerts again will become a lot more profitable again. And being an early adopter and taking advantage of these major updates you can take it as a hook to make your campaigns a lot more effective.

Especially with the upcoming Ad view simplification we believe it can be an extremely powerful marketing tool to not only spark the interest of new PTC users, but also your old referrals to have a look back and give PaidVerts another go.

We will be doing our own part in trying to reach out to old members via emails, but due to the age and bulk of these emails our emails will not be as effective of getting through as yours as a sponsor might be. So if there's a time to try and reconnect with your referrals, now would definitely be a good time to start doing that smile

Just a massive streak of lucky players/unlucky house. We've looked into the plays and there is nothing suspicious going on, just variance coming into play.

There have been past bad streaks with our games (as there have been good ones).

Just a massive proof that our games are fair and that house doesn't always win.

I think for the order of ads shown the default should be the activation ads and then people can change them to high to low or other options. This will get people going through the AA ads first

I don't know if that will anger them or how if will affect them psychologically. They may have a better experience if they get their best ads first and then work their way down

Thanks for the thoughts dguy! I think you have a point, but why I think the default should be by "ad_id" is because this ensures that users get the "fastest to expire" ad first, which in most cases should prevent missed ads, i.e. you're in a hurry etc.

Also, even with this by default, it will typically mean that when you get on PV every day, it will very likely be that BAP ads will actually be the oldest/fastest to expire, and therefore be viewed first anyway.

So that's the reasoning there and one that should cover most possibilities of unwanted circumstances/Forgetting ads etc.

Yep, much smarter way. But I would say current aint that bad at all either......... Gamers (like myself) did 3 lines clicking in cca 1-2 sec, so it was not that bad at all.

Actually I got used to that.

at this moment it seems like i am only getting ads from our site that all takes 30 seconds, i dont think its normal that this happens

and i really cant wait for these long overdue changes to happen =)

On November 5th I bought 5 Bulk Ad Packs. It says:

You will get 1% of your Ad Pack purchase delivered back to you by way of Ads at server reset time each day for 10 days after Ad Pack purchase.


I'm not getting those ads. Does anyone else have this problem?

With the changes currently being considered in Paidverts, could I add being able to buy back days you missed in the "days in a row" for APS?

I'm sure everyone will miss a day at some point, and it seems wrong to penalise long terms members.

You could easily charge $1 or 2000+BAP, which is far more than the person missed out on, but less than they'd missed out on in the future.  Would either be free cash or debt write-down for MTV.  Win-Win!?


Also...if someone pays for vacation mode, what happens to their "days in a row stat"?

That's the whole point logging days in a row.
And you are not penalized, you just didn't log in in a row.
If you could buy missing days, then what's the point? People who have money would pop up once couple of weeks and bought their missing days. I'm glad that not everything is for sale.

There are very few old campaigns (none "old" btw) we way over deliver everyday, esp those that get caught up in group ads.

We caught up b/c the FA stopped being sold/glitch that won't let advertisers buy so AA ads were the old and new campaigns and caught up within like 1 day of no FA.

There is no worry that any campaign will fall through the tracks, and if it does, for some reason group ads give only a couple hundred max to oldest but thousands to newest. Sort by ID will not help at all.

I fully see your side and I don't want anyone to buy their way out of it.
I think there should be a middle ground.
Way to easy to be too sick/internet down/life happens making logging into PV the least of anyone's concerns.

Log in 90 days aka prove you are trying to log in daily.
For every 30 days thereafter, gain the ability to buy 1 day. This means you can't buy your way out of it as you have to log in daily as you only get a max of 10* days.

90D = 1
120D = 2
150D = 3
180D = 4
210D = 5
240D = 6
270D = 7
300D = 8
330D = 9
360D = 10*

I think while it would be nice to monetize the product, I think the programming involved to tell the system you did loginwould cost too much vs what anyone would really want to pay. Thus, I say at some point get the programmer to have it built in to auto use a day(s) if you've accumulated any and missed a day. The program would somehow login for everyone at 23:59.

IMO making a full fledged for the login days is needless work/product that would end up not being bought at all to cover for the dev costs.

I do agree with fraser that vacation mode should "save you" here, which currently I think it doesn't. So this I think is worth changing to ensure it does. And this way, it's a simple change as well as a "way for users to buy their save" anyway.

Once we increase our memberbase maybe it would make sense and be worth the time to think about something like this but now is definitely not the time to take priority over anything else.

Update:

The issues with buying FA has been resolved when trying to do so with direct Bitcoin payment. From user reports there were no other specific cases when it doesn't work, so if you still experience any sort of issues in other cases here please do let us know.

We've also fixed the Default splashes to not require verification anymore, i.e. when creating a BA campaign.

I think it would me great if Birthday security check is removed for internal exchange like PV to PM  or MTV to PM and others.
Only implement it for cash out.

Isnt there any other ads to display anymore, i am only getting ads from MTV BMF and casinos and they all have long timers 

been like this a few days now. its getting kinda annoying to do the ads this way
