Todays fast tracks have been sent!

* Reminder *
If you find a security exploit within MTV/PV, and you tell us about it (without first trying to cashout/spend your illgotten gains - we'll give you a $100 cash finders fee!

Todays news is in progress, i'll reply to this thread throughout the day with updates.

----

I plan to queue up todays mini ad issue shortly after posting this! I'll reply with the ad issue stats in an hour or two.

Anyway, i'm in Asuncion, Paraguay at the moment... I'll head back to Santa Catarina, Brazil likely tomorrow (after doing the ad issue etc). So if i'm quiet, it's because i'm on the road - but otherwiee everything is ticking over like normal.

My drive over was LONG! We set off at 10-11pm on Friday night, and arrived here about 24hours later... We only drove about an hour or two, before deciding this car is utterly awful, the headlights are useless, the roads are barely marked, windy/hilly and all the rest of it. And just dangerous -- so we found a hotel and crashed there until sunlight.... Then next morning we set off, uneventful, pretty scenary and all the rest of it.
The crappy car we've got then proceeded to break down twice lol, the second time right on the Brazil/Paraguay fronteir. In this crazy marketplace, single lane of traffic driving at 1mph, trying to push through a million motorcycles and padestrians. No where to park, contantly harassed by vendors trying to sell you / direct you to nonsense; up a slight hill. Hurrendous place to breakdown lol... So after pushing the car, and paying some marketplace vendor a few bucks to let us stash the car in his stall... My girlfriends reaction was, ah brilliant - we've parked. Lets go shopping lol. Meanwhile her brother was similar, ah that'll do, worry about fixing it later - lets go sort out paperwork lol...
So we did all that, then push started the car half a dozen times as we crawled it to a local mechanic. Waited there a few hours to change the alternator. And all good!

Then on the long straight road to Asuncion, I was asleep in the back of the car. My girlfriends brother was driving (he drives perfectly well, but doesn't have a license for some reason)... anyway, so that idiot was speeding along like everybody else. And then drove straight through a police stop at speed, what an idiot! Then he pulls over, and says swap places with me; the police are coming and I dont have a license.... And we don't want to compound the speeding / failure to stop problem with more ammunition etc... And at that point, I was asleep... no idea what's going on. I figure its just a speeding ticket. No biggy -- I didnt realize he drove straight through the checkpoint lol... Which kinda invalidates the no license bit lol.

So these angry policemen surround the car; and im getting the blame for all this nonsense - as they assume i was the driver - I just nod and agree.... And then they take all the paperwork, and tell us to follow them to the police hut thing.... Meanwhile i'm figuring out what the hell just happened lol - what am I getting blamed for --- as I only half understand what i'm being shouted at for lol.

Then in the police hut, they put on such a charade... inflaming all the charges etc. You're in big trouble etc etc... "Have you lost your mind" etc... And I'm agreeing in my head, except all this flack is getting pointed at me lol...
But the Police in Paraguay are famously corrupt... and whilst going back to the car to get something. The police officer basically asks me how much will pay you make this all go away.... And i'm thinking... Really!? lol... And I don't have a clue about any of these things - so I just asked how much do you want. And he said 1000 Real ($250) ... so i'm like fine, whatever, i'll see if i've got it... Then after agreeing to that the charade continues for a while. And I pay the guy, along wiht a line that this is all i've got (a total lie, I just dont want him looking too deep, as there's 3000euros in my laptop bag; which is like a years wages here lol) .... And the funny part is; he takes it, then 5minutes later comes back and gives me 200 back. Saying he doesn't want to take all my money... How nice lol.

And then, my girlfriends brother comes over and asks if I have 50 Real (10euro) , as he ha to "buy his guy a drink" lol... basically another bribe lol.... And we share a laugh, that wtf, I just paid my guy; and you're getting screwed for another 50 lol.

So... that was that!
Thereafter my girlfriend & her brother, not a care in the world for what just happened, are laughing and taking the piss out of me; as I overpaid like a fool. Apparently the police would have accepted 50 lol. Not 800 lol. Nevermind!

So that's my Paraguay experience so far lol... hot as hell, broken down car, long ass drive, sitting in some mechanics back yard for a few hours. And bribing a corrupt, but nice policeman for something I didn't do. Brilliant!

The police here are weird... it's really hard to work out whether they're good/bad. As they stick to the rules like glue, but any excuse at all, and they'll try and get some money out of you. Not for an official fine, but for a bribe to let you go... It's a real debate as to whether thats good/bad.... Especially as the bribes are so small. (Even what I overpaid, is less than a standard speeding fine in Spain @ 200-500euros. And you wouldnt dream of driving through a checkpoint in Spain; that's not far off jailtime) ... Anyway, that's that!

----

Work wise... PV is looking good, the counter has rocketed straight back to 56k+ users. And I haven't even done todays ads yet. So I reckon that'll hit 60k+ by the end of the day.

* I've asked the programmers to fix the PV stats page, that's all showing zero right now.

* Lucas is getting started on the shareholder section... he'll split the shares, change the transfer fee, permit instant trading, and hopefully add the bulk buy option also.

* I posted on facebook yesterday the new servers we're about to order from Iweb -- as we move to a new datacenter with a much bigger bandwidth -- which is our current bottleneck, now that the database servers are replicating nicely.

And other than that, I don't have any other news right now... I'll copy the programmer bullet point updates for the last few days with tomorrows news.

Paraguay is reportedly a mess... Brazil has some corrupt cops too but you might want to be careful since what you did in Paraguay COULD bring you to jail here in Brazil.... or find you dead. Sometimes handing money around helps and sometimes it is VERY VERY dangerous.. mostly of all if they notice you are a foreigner.

Instant trading/fee reduction means a new opportunity for me to start day trading again smile

With the 3% fees and the current prizes this was no longer profitable.
I'm glad I can start day trading again smile

raybalba Yeah. Sorry man. I deleted my post because I completely read it wrong. I guess I'm the one that needs to learn some reading comprehension. Hahaha. I realized you were talking about "pending" ads for 19 days. Sorry.
