Hey everyone!I was thinking of creating a portfolio/blog type page for myself, and was wondering how many of you got any experience with that? Free type create & host for start, and I don't have any actual programming knowledge, so really only the putting it together counts, without the coding. I've already been looking around for any that could make do, but if you have some experience with any or if there's any really good, please let me know!

I make all my clients websites in Wordpress. It's very flexible for almost every need and easy to learn. If you don't have the time or the will, I can always welcome a new paying client.

I would recommend using WordPress as well. It's just clicking on buttons to make everything work. Only learning a little html would be necessary to do some SEO. I used it and it's so easy. Positive thing is that if you one day learn javascript or php you can suddenly tweak the code to get an even better website... just try it, if you don't like it after a few days, try using another system

I agree. Wordpress started out for blogs but it is amazingly versatile with all it's plugins from what I recall. If you want to do basic HTML then you probably should download the seamonkey browser suite. It has the old Netscape composer software that will allow you to create basic webpages. If you go that way you will also need hosting and a domain. There are cheap options out there like hostgator or godaddy or if you want easy plus an affiliate opportunity there is something like global domains international which also has a wordpress plugin. GDI is more expensive though at $10 per month but I use it to host all my banners, splash pages and personal pages with very few problems. If you are going to go with page design then you probably also want to get an image creator like photoshop or the free gimp software. This will enable you to create you own images like banners and splash pages that you can put on your pages. You can also get into banner design if you have the talent. So it can become lucrative for you or at least help you pay for your hosting

Both freebie hosts go down as soon as you start getting some more serious traffic. Read carefully their terms.
