But if we'll stick with a lower marketing budget, that we know we can make a ROI on, then funding it doesn't make sense, as it would require for the game to make even more profits to breakeven compared to just us funding that. For potential future projects that is definitely something we could be doing to offset some risks, but right now it doesn't make much sense - unless if after we launch the reworked UI and see a massive spike in conversion, in that case it could make sense to ask for additional funding for the full release, as we'd know conversion is much better, and we'd have a much higher chance of making a return on the advertising spend, and have more chance of hitting some of the trending spots. So, we'll see how things go, and not completely rule it out just yet @Bartosh I really don't feel like going into too much detail right now, so I'll just note down the general concept behind the cooperation: 1) We explicitly did not to want to hire someone who would "just do some SEO work and be done with it", and where we'd have to control/check on everything. If we did, we'd spend more time and money doing that, which we don't have. We were looking for a long term hands-off partnership, where they would do all the research, prepare all the content, distribute all the content, and look into potential additional paid options (such as writing articles or getting paid content on high quality websites), that we could agree on paying for if we'd consider them worth it. If we want to improve SEO significantly, we have to move from the "slosumo prepare this and that" and stop micromanaging such things. From all the past "mini SEO deals" we did in the past, this was by far the most impressive pitch they did, and the most complete plan they presented. They are interested in a long-term partnership to potentially help us improve SEO on the rest of the site, and our payment structure is set up like that as well. There are some base payments and bonuses for completing certain milestones, or more accurately - reach visible results. 2) We're going for high quality things here. Custom written articles, content that they will prepare, after researching and comparing our competitors. And potentially any additional paid content that they will suggest us to buy from 3rd party sources. 3) No one is promising #1 rank here, both sides are sensible enough to recognize that is pretty much impossible to achieve with the level of competition out there for certain keywords. We do have a lot of room to at least move higher up the rankings in even the high-competition keywords, and also move to the top in more niche keywords. That's what the focus is on. We've gone for a minimum 3-6 months deal for a reason, and for many of they keywords even that is far from enough. It wasn't much into details but it's enough for me to see that you know what needs to be done, and you hire people that know it.  It will take at least 3 months to see any significant results of SEO actions, optimally 6 months (in some cases even more). The competition in our business is tight as hell, it'll be a grind.  Can't wait to see the results and these RPs finally going up   keep up the good work. This is data that can be analyzed and if there are a lot of external links, that is basically free traffic. That said, if we do decide to keep the site up and running (cost should be minimal, but we'll look into that more when we make the decision), we'll most likely do something like that. However, we're short on available programming time right now, and we've got a dozen of other little tasks/changes needing to be done with much more immediate benefit and importance.
